Sludge dewatering

Sewage sludge usually consists of over 95% water. In terms of disposal and transportation, it is necessary to remove as much water as possible.
Therefore, various methods (centrifuge, belt press, screw press, ...) are used to dewater the sewage sludge. Common to all methods is the prior conditioning of the sludge with flocculants to increase or enable dewaterability.
Depending on the method and condition of the sludge, dry matter contents between 20 and 35% are being achieved.
