The granular activated sludge of S::Select® has a significantly higher settling rate than flocculent sludge (3 - 5 m / h compared to 1 - 1.5 m / h). The reason for this is the compact shape of the granules in comparison to the loose structure of the sludge flocs and thus the higher density as a result of the higher packing density.
