Type 021N can often be found in wastewater treatment plants of fruit juice processing, gelatine production, dairies, breweries, or the paper industry. Easily degradable substrates promote massive growth.
Sometimes a nitrogen or phosphorus deficiency is the cause of the massive growth of the type 021N.
